eCharts Settings 

The eCharts settings file.

Detailed Explanation 

eCharts.Settings.ini

This is only related to users who have Charts+ on a Windows device. If you are using Charts+ on an iOS device you can go directly to Chapter 2.

The eCharts.Settings.ini file contains NAVBLUE Charts+ Windows low level settings that cannot be updated through content packages via EFBConfiguration.xml. You will be able to locate the file in C:\Program Files\Navtech\Navtech Charts on a 32 bit system and C:\Program Files (x86)\Navtech\Navtech Charts on a 64 bit systems.

 Let's have a look at the global setting used by Charts+.

Global

Subscription
Desc: A Subscription key is not required when ApplicationDataProvider is set to NCDIS. It is required in all other instances
Values: NAVBLUE defined

Data folder
Desc: Set the full path to the directory where the terminal charts are stored
Values: %ProgramData%\Navtech\Navtech Charts\Terminal Chart Data

Customer data path.
Desc: Set the full path to the customer data directory.
Values: valid directory (e.g. %ProgramData%\Navtech\NavtechCharts\Customer Data)

Persistence data path
Desc: Set the full path to the application data.
Values:%ProgramData%\Navtech\Navtech Charts\Application Data

Exit user options
Desc: Determine if the Exit menu item is available to the user
Values: True | False

Minimize User Options
Desc: Determine if the Minimize menu item is available to the user
Values: True | False

 

Position Data Provider
Desc: Determine the aircraft location data provider to use.
Values: None | LPCNG_xABDC | DEVICE | EXTERNAL (GNSS Bluetooth receiver)

Accuracy Threshold
Desc: Parameter that specifies accuracy threshold in meters above which
low accuracy is declared
Values: 50 | 100 | 500 | 1000

Application Data Provider
Desc: Determine application data provider to use.
Values: None | NCDIS | LPCNG_Loadbox

Flight Data Provider
Desc: Determine the flight data provider (e.g. FMS updates to Departure and
Arrival aerodromes)
Values: None | LPCNG_xABDC

Parked Status Provider
Desc: Determine what aircraft parked status provider to use.
Values: None | LPCNG_xABDC

Min Severity
Desc: Determine the minimum severity level of messages written to application
runtime log file
Values: Debug | Information| Warning | Error | Fatal

Read Only Package Source Directory
Desc: Set the full path to the read-only source folder for packages (if applicable).
Values: valid directory (e.g. C: \Airbus\LPC-NG\fwdir\bs\navecharts-data)

Read Only Package Search Pattern
Desc: Set the full path to the source folder for search patterns (if applicable).
Values: valid directory (e.g. jar*)

Use Quick Access Toolbar
Desc: Determine whether to show the quick access toolbar

Offside IP Addresses Discovery Mode
Desc: Determine the offside IP address discovery mode

Port Number Used
Desc: Parameter that specifies the port number used to communicate between devices
Values: Port number

FOMAX Wed service URL
Desc: Parameter that specifies the FOMAX web service URL.
Values: URL

FOMAX Web Service Network Communication
Desc: Parameter that specifies network connection mode. Used by FOMAX web service.
Values: Wired | Wifi | Both

Virtual Keyboard is available
Desc: Determine whether or not the custom virtual keyboard is available to user.
If the application is installed in LPC-NG mode, then this value is overridden to TRUE.
Values: True | False

 

Enable PFB Data Retrieval
Desc: Parameter that specifies if the PFB (IFS software) data retrieval is available to user.
Values: True | False

PFB Aerodromes Path
Desc: Parameter that specifies the location to use for PFB aerodromes information.
Values: default path

PFB Route Path
Desc: Parameter that specifies the location to use for PFB route information Values: default path

Application Operational Use
Desc: Parameter that specifies the application operational use (is used to read the correct paragraph in EFBUserConfiguration.xml)

Purge Mode
Desc: How the NAVBLUE data update service work.
Values: Normal | Safe | Fast

Keep
Desc: Select the number of old terminal charts revisions that will be kept in the data directory after a purge.
Values: an integer greater than zero (0)

Safe Purge Path
Desc: The path to use for the safe purge
Values: a valid directory (e.g. C:\Temp)

Enroute (ENC)

Data Path
Desc: Set the full path to the directory where the Enroute data files are stored.
Values: a valid directory (e.g. %ProgramData%\Navtech\NavtechCharts\Enroute Data)

Desc: Set the number of obsolete Enroute datasets to keep when Enable Purge is
set to True

Enroute Map

Use UTM
Desc: Determine if NAVBLUE Charts+ Windows selects an optimal UTM reference system for each area of the Enroute map that is viewed in lower scale levels (also see WorldMapMinScale)

World Map Ref system Id
Desc: The standardized id number of the reference system to be used for the Enroute map at start-up (large scale).
Values: NAVBLUE defined

World Map Min Scale
Desc: Below this scale the Enroute map may switch to UTM reference systems (also see UseUTM).
Values: NAVBLUE defined

Background Antialias
Desc: Determine if the background Enroute map will be rendered with anti alias. This looks much better, but may slow down performance. Use False for better performance.
Values: True | False

Features Antialias
Desc: Determine if all features will be rendered with anti alias. This looks much better, but may slow down performance. Use False for better performance.
Values: True | False

Tiled View
Charts+ Windows 29 Release 16-1
Desc: Determine if the Enroute map display is rendered in tiles. Set to True if graphics rendering is fast, but can affect performance if graphics rendering is very slow.
Set to False if the processor works at 100% for long periods of time.
Values: True | False 

FlightData
Desc: If a flight data provider (such as LPC-NG) is installed, connection parameter.

FsaNgIpAddresses
Desc: If the application is connected to another EFB via FSA-NG AID
Values: IP addresses

OtherAidAddresses
Desc: If the application is connected to a local network and want to share some information (charts, route,...) with other EFB in the same local network
